February 21, 2010

THIS TUESDAY: Afternoon Lunch & Nighttime Movie for ALL Potential Bigs & Pledges: Big/Little Preferences are due by THIS TUESDAY!!! If you are a pledge or a potential big, you are invited to bring lunch to the APO Room (in the Office of Student Activities, 3rd Floor DSU) at 12:15pm to aid in the very important decision of choosing the perfect big/little! Also, Tuesday night at 9 there will be a movie showing in a multi-purpose room of James River Hall. Both lunch and movie will be hosted by Chris U.

THIS WEDNESDAY: Come support Fagel B. as she puts on Alpha Phi’s King of Hearts Event.

Nominations & Elections for E-Board Positions:
Nominations for Fall 2010 has begun. Please email Hanna S. if you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for any position. Pledges cannot be nominated for Pledge Master or President. Elections will be held on March 14.

Constitutional Amendment: Katelyn I. proposed that Article 4, Section 1B: 7L be changed from “Neither the Pledgemaster nor the Assistant Pledgemaster shall take a Little except in extenuating circumstances.” to “The Pledgemaster cannot take a Little except in extenuating circumstances.” The proposal was voted on, and was passed with an overwhelming majority. This means that the Assistant Pledgemaster is now allowed to take a Little.

Constitutional Review: Date has bet set! It will be on Tuesday, April 6 at 7pm in the Washington Room. Attendance is mandatory.

Retreat: Please email Kristen L. ASAP if you are interested in joining the Retreat Committee. If she gets enough interest, we may be able to save retreat! If there is a lack of interest, money reserved for retreat will be redistributed between the formal and graduation committees.

Academic Bowl: APO is competing against other on-campus organizations in CNU’s first Academic Bowl. Please contact Christa H. if you’re interested in being on the team.

Spring Fest: Please contact Chris U. if you have any ideas for Spring Fest. The theme is “The Ends of the Earth.” We can do a fun event, an awareness table, etc. This would be a great opportunity to get our name out there!

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: To all the men in our chapter—please email Kelly C. if you are interested. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a men's march to stop rape, sexual violence, and gender violence.

Blood Drive: Thank you to everyone who signed in blood donors for our last blood drive! Kristina encouraged us to advertise even better for next time so that we can exceed our usual goal of 80 pints. According to Hanna, the new blood drive shirts were a great success, so please continue wearing them on blood drive days!
