Shell Washing: The Chesapeake Bay Foundation Needs 10-12 Volunteers for Shell Washing/Bagging THIS FRIDAY (April 16th) from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Location: VIMS in Gloucester, VA. Volunteers will carry baskets of oyster shells to our mechanized shell washer, run the shells through the "hopper" to be washed, and then put the clean shells into mesh bags. These bags will be used in the setting tanks for our future spat on shell projects. Please let Lauren C. know if you are interested in helping out with this service project! Beach Clean Up: This event will take place THIS SATURDAY (April 17th). Please meet outside Einsteins at 11am so that we can hand out directions and coordinate the car pool situation. A prize will be given to the team that gathers the most trash! Please bring food for lunch, and anything you may want to play with at the beach (ex- frisbees, volleyballs, friends, etc). Brothers can leave anytime they want, but are encouraged to stay for as long as possible.

Senior Send-Off: Potluck/Paddle-presenting/Party THIS SUNDAY (April 18th) at Ed’s Estate at 2pm. Bring a potluck item and $1 if you are over 21 and would like a designated driver. CPPC: NEXT CHAPTER MEETING (April 18th) we will be voting on next semester’s service projects, fundraisers, and fellowship events!! Use this next week to come up with concrete ideas and skin-and-bone outlines of those ideas for next semester. If you are graduating this May, you are not obligated to attend.
Hines Middle School: For those that are interested, there will be a Spring Book Fair from April 20th to April 23rd. Shifts available Tuesday through Thursday: 8:30am-10:30am, 10:30am-12:30pm, 12:30pm-2:30pm. Shifts available on Friday: 8:30am-10:30am, 10:30am-12:00pm. There will also be a Math Mania Marathon on April 25th. Shifts are available for an hour at a time between 9am and 5pm. Email Crystal Z. to sign up for shifts for either event ASAP. The Alpha Eta Pledge class is putting on a fellowship event, and You're Invited! Come join you're newly initiated brothers for Dance Your APO (pretend I just typed APO in greek letters) Off. It will be on Sunday April 11 @ 9PM (right after brotherhood meeting). The location is still being determined, but it will definitely be in either York West or East Multipurpose Room. We will be playing games and having fun while Taylor M. teaches everyone linedances. Beginner's are definitely welcome :-). Also, you will be learning some awesome dances just in time for formal! So come out and have fun with your brothers!
Beach Cleanup: 11am-whenever on Saturday, April 17th. We will meet at 11am and hand out directions to the beach we will be going to, then head on there. Team that gathers the most trash/debris will win a prize! Bring food for lunch, and anything you may want to play with at the beach (ex- frisbees, volleyballs, hot boys in speedos, etc). Brothers can leave anytime they want, but are encouraged to stay for as long as possible.
Molly came up with the idea of selling drinks at Relay for Life since she said that last year not many people sold drinks; mainly food. Would anyone like to lend a helping hand with the setup for this? Email Molly or Crystal Z. if you would!

Academic Bowl:TODAY (Tuesday, March 30th) at 7pm in the Ferguson M&T Hall. Thanks to Louisa A., we have a motto: “I think, therefore I am… an APO brother!” Bring bright banners and lots of energy to support APO!!!! Let’s show CNU how smart we are and win $200!!
Letter Making Party: THIS WEDNESDAY from 6-8pm in the first floor MPR of JR. Bring fabrics, shirts, Heat ‘n’ Bond, scissors, and anything else you may want to put together! An ironing board will be available for you to use.
Constitutional Review: **MANDATORY FOR ALL BROTHERS**
NEXT TUESDAY (April 6th) at 7pm in the Washington Room. Instead of going through every line of the constitution, we will only be reviewing the parts that you, as the fraternity, deem necessary. If there is something that you would like to change in the constitution, contact Hanna S. via email by Monday, April 5th or she will not review during the scheduled time. You must tell her the exact section of the constitution or other manual you would like to review and what you suggest it be changed to (you may request to review something without suggestions of change). Hanna asks that you be as specific as possible to make this process as painless as possible. Our constitution can be found through the APO website (http://clubs.users.cnu.edu/apo/). Email Lindsay S. if you will be unable to attend this event due to extenuating circumstances (such as class or serious illness).
Hip-Hop Cupcakes: We are holding a “cupcake walk” in the David Student Union on Friday, April 9th from 11am–3pm. It will feature Easter decorations and 90s music! All brothers are asked to bake 12 cupcakes for this event. Bring cupcakes to Katelyn I. or Crystal Z.’s apartment on Thursday, April 8th or just bring them straight to the event! Please contact Crystal Z. by Thursday night if you are bring the cupcakes straight to the event. Cupcakes that don’t sell will be sold at Relay for Life. Please email Crystal Z. if you have any questions.
Big Paddles: If your big is graduating this May it is MANDATORY that you make them a paddle! Paddles must be given to Megan W. by Friday, April 9, 2010. The paddles will be presented at Senior Send-Off (April 18th). If anyone has any questions please contact Megan.

“Kiss Me I’m Greek” Fundraiser: Demand for buttons exceeded supply in the OSA Office on Monday. The bad news is that some Greeks will not be able to receive their buttons until after St. Patrick’s Day, but the good news is that Christa H.’s idea was a total success and we will definitely be holding this fundraiser again next year! Continue telling your Greek friends to email Christa H. if they want to buy buttons, but warn them that their buttons may not be finished by Wednesday.

Retreat: We're having our APO Day Retreat this Sunday from 1pm - 5pm in the Washington Room! Our regular Brotherhood Meeting will be held during the retreat so you will be free for the evening. We will have snacks but you should eat a meal prior to the event.
Habitat for Humanity & Murder Mystery: Canceled due to weather/ lack of interest. Please remember to RSVP to events so that events such as the Murder Mystery can actually happen next time. Email Chris U. if you have any good ideas for fellowship events.

Murder Mystery: Our Murder Mystery event will be held THIS THURSDAY at 8pm in the James River MPR. If you would like to attend this event, RSVP to Chris U. by Wednesday at 5pm!
“Kiss Me I’m Greek” Fundraiser: We have decided to make “Kiss Me I’m Greek” buttons, and sell them to Greek organizations during the week of St. Patrick’s Day (which is next week!). Amber B. will be contacting the presidents of each Greek organization about this event, but please help her get the word out by telling all your Greek friends! Habitat for Humanity: If you are one of the lucky 6 who is participating in this event, don’t forget to fill out your paperwork! This event is on March 13th (this Saturday!).
Conference on Captain’s Spirit: Bridget C. will be representing APO for this event on March 13th from 10am-2pm.

THIS TUESDAY: Afternoon Lunch & Nighttime Movie for ALL Potential Bigs & Pledges: Big/Little Preferences are due by THIS TUESDAY!!! If you are a pledge or a potential big, you are invited to bring lunch to the APO Room (in the Office of Student Activities, 3rd Floor DSU) at 12:15pm to aid in the very important decision of choosing the perfect big/little! Also, Tuesday night at 9 there will be a movie showing in a multi-purpose room of James River Hall. Both lunch and movie will be hosted by Chris U.
THIS WEDNESDAY: Come support Fagel B. as she puts on Alpha Phi’s King of Hearts Event.
Nominations & Elections for E-Board Positions: Nominations for Fall 2010 has begun. Please email Hanna S. if you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for any position. Pledges cannot be nominated for Pledge Master or President. Elections will be held on March 14.
Constitutional Amendment: Katelyn I. proposed that Article 4, Section 1B: 7L be changed from “Neither the Pledgemaster nor the Assistant Pledgemaster shall take a Little except in extenuating circumstances.” to “The Pledgemaster cannot take a Little except in extenuating circumstances.” The proposal was voted on, and was passed with an overwhelming majority. This means that the Assistant Pledgemaster is now allowed to take a Little.
Constitutional Review: Date has bet set! It will be on Tuesday, April 6 at 7pm in the Washington Room. Attendance is mandatory.
Retreat: Please email Kristen L. ASAP if you are interested in joining the Retreat Committee. If she gets enough interest, we may be able to save retreat! If there is a lack of interest, money reserved for retreat will be redistributed between the formal and graduation committees.
Academic Bowl: APO is competing against other on-campus organizations in CNU’s first Academic Bowl. Please contact Christa H. if you’re interested in being on the team.
Spring Fest: Please contact Chris U. if you have any ideas for Spring Fest. The theme is “The Ends of the Earth.” We can do a fun event, an awareness table, etc. This would be a great opportunity to get our name out there!
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes: To all the men in our chapter—please email Kelly C. if you are interested. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a men's march to stop rape, sexual violence, and gender violence.
Blood Drive: Thank you to everyone who signed in blood donors for our last blood drive! Kristina encouraged us to advertise even better for next time so that we can exceed our usual goal of 80 pints. According to Hanna, the new blood drive shirts were a great success, so please continue wearing them on blood drive days!

this was a 'paper' meeting due to Valentines Day, below is the agenda
1) Blood Drive Crisis!
Our February 17th Blood drive has the usual goal of collecting 80 pints of blood with 120 appointments. At the moment we only have made 22 appointments. Please spread information about our Blood Drive via word-of-mouth as this is by far the most effective way to get people to come out. You can direct people to www.givelife.org and then to use the sponsor code CNU.
We also need more APO brothers helping with this blood drive, especially during the set-up time between 8:30 – 10:00 and mid-morning. Please e-mail Kristina to let her know what hours you would like to work the drive.
2) EXCITING NEW BROTHERHOOD SERVICE EVENT: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY!
We have 6 spots assigned to us for a Habitat for Humanity build here in Newport News on March 13, from 8:45 to 3 pm. Please let Crystal Z. know if you would like to participate.
3) E-board Positions Open: Communications Chair and Alumni Relations Chair.
